Bargains was first launched as a low cost black-and-white advertising magazine in 1999.  The magazine had to be suspended after about two years of operation as company strategies changed to meet the rising demand of other services at the time.  In that sense, Bargains is the pioneer of advertising magazines in Tanzania.

 

In May 2010, the magazine was relaunched as a product and lifestyle catalogue whereby advertisers could not only place ads, but the magazine could act as a platform for shops and stores to display their products in catalogue-formats.

 

At the same time, Bargains does hope to achieve, through its widespread circulation, a distribution of interest-knowledge around the local community through its monthly publication.
